Fil-Am filmmaker wins award on Ben Affleck, Matt Damon-produced show
MANILA, Philippines – Filipino-American filmmaker Joshua Ortiz bagged the Most Unique Short Film award on Project Greenlight, an HBO television series produced by actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
Joshua’s film, entitled Listen, won the award at the first-ever Greenie Awards, an awards ceremony launched by the show. Other categories include: Best Comedy, Best Drama, Best Horror, Best Action, and Most WTF.
Viewers voted by going to Project Greenlight’s YouTube channel and “liking” their favorite videos in the respective categories. The videos that collected the highest number of likes won.

Joshua first fell in love with film at 18 years old, and has been making films for 3 years now. He filmed Listen in 5 days using a Canon T3i DSLR, and worked with a $30 (or P1,310) budget with his friends cast as extras.
