Freddie Aguilar reconciles with daughter Maegan

MANILA, Philippines – Maegan Aguilar and her father Freddie Aguilar have reconciled.

As seen in an interview on Startalk, Saturday, June 6, Maegan, together with her two children, went to Freddie’s house to visit him. Freddie, who was accompanied by his wife Jovie Gatdula, hugged Maegan and his grandchildren.

Maegan could not help but turn emotional while embracing her father.

 “Nagsu-sorry po ako,” Maegan said. (I am saying sorry.)

“Sinasabi ko naman, hindi mo pa nagagawa, e, pinapatawad na kita.

“Kaya lang, ang isang tatay, kailangan masunod ang kanyang rules and regulations sa bahay,” Freddie told his daughter.

 (I always said, you have not done anything yet I have already forgiven you. But a father’s rules and regulations in the house should be followed.)

Freddie’s wife Jovie meanwhile said that she is happy everything is fine between them.

 “Masaya lang ako at okay na sila. Kasi yung lang naman ang hinihingi lang namin pareho – na maayos yung pamilya namin.” (I am happy that they are okay. Because that’s what we both wanted – that everything in our family will be okay.)

Maegan said she will not deny that she missed her father, as well as the home they shared. She also said she wants to get to know Jovie better.

 “And of course, yung mga anak ko, gusto ko lumaki sila (I want my children to grow) with the lolo,” Maegan.

Maegan said that she wants to be with her father on Father’s Day.

“Pag walang show, paglulutuin kita pero kung may show, unahin ang hanap buhay, uunahin ang trabaho,” he laughed. (If there is no show, I will cook for you, but if there is a show, work comes first.)

Maegan also said that she will work hard not only for her kids but also to fix the relationship between her and her dad.

 Last May, Maegan cut ties with her father after they fought, which led her to leave with her children and then live-in partner.

Maegan has since separated from her live-in partner after he reportedly hurt her in one of their fights. –Rappler.com
