MANILA, Philippines – It seems 2012 was a golden year for Barack Obama, not only for retaining the presidency in the US, but also for being the unofficial King of Twitter.

Twitter has released their 2012 review of the year’s tweets, and Barack Obama became the most notable tweeter in existence for 2012 with three simple words: “Four more years.”

The tweet, which also had a photograph of the re-elected President embracing wife Michelle Obama, garnered over 810,000 retweets and more than 300,000 favorites.

By comparison, Justin Bieber’s tweet regarding the death of his 6-year-old fan Avalanna Routh garnered over 220,000 retweets and more than 100,000 favorites.

Twitter’s 2012 in Review looked at not only at the most notable tweets of the year, but also the most popular conversation pieces and trending topics.

The year in review also recognized the arrival of new voices who joined Twitter in 2012, in addition to allowing individual users to learn more about how they spent the year in tweets. –
