ABS-CBN announced the first two contestants of the reality show Pinoy Big Brother during It's Showtime and TV Patrol on Monday, November 30.
Andrea Abaya, tagged the "Cheerleader Sweetheart of Parañaque" and Justin Dizon, the "Cabalen of Pampanga," are the first two of the 14 housemates who will enter the house.
Andrea, 18, said she plans to bring her competitive spirit inside the Big Brother House. "It's not the winning or anything, it's more on the unity that you have with your teammate," she said of her cheerleading experience.
Prior to auditioning for PBB, Andrea had starred in a few commercials. She is also a TikTok and Kumu user.
She admitted she does not know much about PBB. "I guess that would be a challenge since I don't know what to expect."
Justin, 22, emphasized the importance of representation in joining the Big Brother House.
"Representation is important. Useful lang ang gay kapag katatawanan ang pinaguusapan (Others consider gay people useful only in the context of comedy). But when it comes to serious topics, for example lang, human rights, the discussion suddenly shifts."
Justin said that even before joining PBB, he'd already been a target of criticism, which he said he ignores.
The identities of the other housemates will be announced before Pinoy Big Brother Connect officially starts on December 6. – Rappler.com
