After unveiling the official trailer during the San Diego Comic Con on Saturday, July 21 (early Sunday, July 22 in the Phlippines), Matt and the show’s showrunner and cast talked about the upcoming series.
Disenchantment tells the story of Princess Bean, a “hard-drinking young princess,” who travels across the medieval kingdom of Dreamand with Elfo, her elf companion, and Luci, her personal demon.
In the trailer, Bean is supposed to marry her very own prince charming but she dramatically says “no” during the wedding and he… gets impaled. “I want to be in charge of my own destiny,” Bean declares.
“I want to see the outside world,” Elfo muses.
“I want to get rid of all the diseases plaguing mankind and replace them with worse ones,” Luci says.
