WATCH: Princess Bean takes control of her life in 'Disenchantment' trailer
MANILA, Philippines – "What's this feeling I don't wanna drink away?" "That's hope."
Fans of Matt Groening (creator of no less than The Simpsons and Futurama) will have to wait just a little bit longer before the 10-episode series Disenchantment streams on Netflix.
After unveiling the official trailer during the San Diego Comic Con on Saturday, July 21 (early Sunday, July 22 in the Phlippines), Matt and the show's showrunner and cast talked about the upcoming series.
Disenchantment tells the story of Princess Bean, a "hard-drinking young princess," who travels across the medieval kingdom of Dreamand with Elfo, her elf companion, and Luci, her personal demon.
In the trailer, Bean is supposed to marry her very own prince charming but she dramatically says "no" during the wedding and he… gets impaled. "I want to be in charge of my own destiny," Bean declares.
"I want to see the outside world," Elfo muses.
"I want to get rid of all the diseases plaguing mankind and replace them with worse ones," Luci says.
If that's not enough to convince you of the fun that Disenchantment is sure to bring, we're not sure what will.
The series features the voice talents of Abbi Jacobson (Bean), Eric Andre (Luci), and Nat Faxon (Elfo), along with John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery.
The series premieres worldwide on Netflix on August 17, 2018. – Rappler.com
