MANILA, Philippines – Cheslie Kryst of North Carolina was crowned the new Miss USA 2019 on Friday, May 3 (Thursday, May 2, US time) at  the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino Grand Theatre in Nevada.

The 28-year-old full time lawyer succeeded Sarah Rose Summers. She was welcomed by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Miss Teen USA 2019 Kaliegh Harris into the Miss Universe Organization family.


Cheslie will represent USA in the Miss Universe pageant scheduled during the last part of 2019.

According to her biography in the Miss USA website, Cheslie earned her law degree MBA from Wake Forest University and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree from the Honors College at the University of South Carolina.
