National Artist for Visual Arts Abdulmari Imao dies
MANILA, Philippines – National Artist for Visual Arts Abdulmari Asia Imao died on Tuesday, December 16. He was 78.
On its Facebook page, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) expressed their condolence to the family of the late artist.
“A native of Sulu, he is a sculptor, painter, photographer, ceramist, documentary film maker, cultural researcher, writer, and articulator of Philippine Muslim art and culture,” the NCCA’s statement said.
