With this in mind, we asked celebrity hairstylists Lourd Ramos, Anton Papa, and Jonathan Velasco, Denman’s first local ambassadors, to share with us the brushes they swear by.

What are your favorite brushes from Denman?

Lourd Ramos: The tunnel vent skeleton brush and D3 styling brush. The skeleton brush is also a multifunctional brush – you can use for volume, to straighten, style your hair. It works really well because its ergonomically designed with holes so the air of the blow-dryer goes inside and it cooks the hair properly with the right amount of temperature.

I’m on a tight budget and could only afford splurging on a single brush. What would you recommend?

Lourd Ramos: Definitely the skeleton brush.

Anton Papa: The paddle brush – especially for girls na nag-office, nagmamadali so kailangan nila ng mas malaking brush (for girls who go to the office, rushing so they need a bigger brush).

Jonathan Velasco: The D3 styling brush because when you blow-dry its great especially if your hair is curly, or even if you want to give it volume or straighten it. The brush is so versatile that’s why I like it.

How do I keep my hair healthy?

Lourd Ramos: Having good hair starts with a good shampoo and conditioner. After that, you need to have good brushes. At the same time, you need to know what is the function and purpose of each brush you’re getting… The best thing you can do is to ask the beauty advisor so that you’ll know its function.

Anton Papa: ‘Wag lagi magshampoo. ‘Wag everyday, alternate dapat, kasi ‘yung shampoo isa s’ya sa nagpapa-dry ng hair… Better din kung bibili kayo ng dry shampoo. Kailangan ring matutunan ‘yung tamang brand, tamang product para sa hair nila at paano gamitin (Don’t always shampoo. Don’t do it everyday, just alternate because shampoo is one of the things that dries hair. It’s also better if you buy dry shampoo. You need to learn the right brand, the right prodyct for your hair and how to use it). 

Jonathan Velasco: Clean your hair properly. Lalo na in our country, sobrang humid, mabilis mag-oil yung scalp natin. So wash it properly para maganda ‘yung tubo ng hair. Healthy and shiny at the same time (Clean your hair properly. Especially in our country, it’s so humid, our scalp gets oily fast. So wash it properly so that the growth of the hair is good.
