MANILA, Philippines –The Philippine fashion industry has lost one of its bright talents. 

Designer John Herrera confirmed through his Facebook account that his brother Paul  died Sunday, June 8 from cardiac arrest due to meningitis. 

“The family would like to thank everyone who have extended their condolences,” John wrote.

Friends of the designer have expressed their sadness in losing Paul. 

The fashion industry lost one of its sons today. RIP Paul Herrera. You will be missed.

Aside from designing clothes, Paul is also an accomplished accessories designer. He and his brother John, also a designer, are the duo behind the House of Herrera brand.

 Paul’s designs have been worn by some of the country’s media personalities, including G Tongi and Iza Calzado. For many fans, he is also one of the top go-to designers for weddings and other special occasion.

In 2013, the brothers joined the MEGA Young Designers Competition, alongside MEGA Young Designer of the Year 2013 Emir Yamamoto. The brothers were the MEGA All Star Designers of the Year 2013. – Rappler.com
