Filipino chocolate Auro wins UK Great Taste Awards

One of the country’s top-tier local chocolates, Auro Chocolate, bagged 7 prestigious awards at the annual Great Taste 2020 event held in the United Kingdom.

This year, the proudly Filipino bean-to-bar chocolatier won a total of 8 Great Taste stars for 7 products across 3 categories.

Under the Chocolate category, Auro’s 85% Mana Single-Estate Dark Chocolate bar was awarded 2 stars out of 3.

Four other chocolate bars were awarded with 1 star: 85% Regalo Single-Varietal Dark Chocolate, 77% Dark Chocolate, 55% Dark Chocolate, and 42% Milk Chocolate.

Auro Chocolate’s 55% Dark Chocolate with Arabica Coffee was awarded 1 star as a chocolate bar with added flavorings or ingredients.

Another star was awarded to the company’s Peanut Hot Chocolate drink under the Tea, Coffee, and Other Brewed Drinks category.

The Great Taste Awards is the world’s largest food and drink awards scheme. In 2020, it welcomed nearly 13,000 entries worldwide. Judged by a panel of over 500 experts, Great Taste rates entries on a 3-star system, with each star symbolizing a seal of approval.
