GALAXY S4? Leaked photos from Chinese website Mobile IT168

NEW YORK, USA – Just hours before the Samsung Galaxy 4 launch event, supposed high-res photos of the much anticipated smartphone were posted on the Chinese website Mobile IT168

This is not the first time we’ve seen supposed leaks of the phone. Earlier this week a low-res video of the phone also appeared on YouTube.

The leaked photos show off a phone similar to the one use in the teaser released by Samsung earlier this week. Translated here’s what Mobile IT168 says the specs of the phone are:

  • 4.99-inch full HD (1080p) display
  • 1.8GHz 8-core Exynos processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB of storage (expandable via micro SD card slot)
  • 13 megapixel camera
  • Dual sim slot

NEW FEATURES. Leaked photos from Chinese website Mobile IT168 show off two rumored features of the new smartphone

The photos also show screen shots of the phone in action that could possibly confirm some rumored features of the phone. Smart Stay eye tracking – which allows users to control gestures using eye movements, and a feature similar to what the S-Pen can do on the Note 2 – that allows you to hover over items instead of touching them – except that it works with your fingers.

In terms of build it look’s that the phone will have the same old plastic finish we saw in the S3. The phone posted has some sort of textured finish to it reminiscent of the back on the black Galaxy Note 2. It also looks to have flat (vs the current rounded) edges and an embossed home button.

There’s only one way to find out if the rumours are true. Follow allong on Rappler’s Live Blog of Samsung’s Unpacked Event – we start at 7am Friday, March 15th (Manila time). We’ll also post a full hands on review as soon as the event is over. For more of the leaked photos head over to the gallery on Mobile IT168. – Rappler.com
