Google bans sexually explicit content development for Google Glass

MANILA, Philippines – Hours after the release of the first pornographic application for Google Glass, Google took down the app and amended its developer policies to ban explicit content on the wearable computer.

Tits & Glass, a Google Glass app released by MiKandi, was taken down a few hours after it was launched. The app, CNN notes, lets Google Glass wearers see photos and videos filmed using the eyewear.

Development policies for Google Glass developers were last changed on June 1 as of this writing. Part of the explicit content portion of the developer policies currently reads, “We don’t allow Glassware content that contains nudity, graphic sex acts, or sexually explicit material.”

While this does seem to be a step back for the MiKandi, Gawker notes that MiKandi is already looking for a workaround. MiKandi CEO Jesse Adams posted an update, saying that “Although the app is still live and people are using it, at this point we must make changes to the app in order to comply with the new policies. Expect to see changes to the application tomorrow.” – Rappler.com
