Holy Thursday retreat: At the Last Supper
Let us now read the Gospel account of the Last Supper.
As we know, the Last Supper is significant for many reasons,
among them, our Lord’s institution
of the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
The Last Supper is also the time
when our Lord, overcome with sorrow and anxiety,
expressed what he felt in his heart to his closest friends.
Read the following passage slowly and prayerfully,
and as always, keep your eyes on the Lord,
imagining yourself among the disciples
on this last night of Jesus' earthly life.
If it helps, play this instrumental music in the background.
