Rappler kicks off Project MOVE with an online discussion on fire prevention

General Carlito Romero, former chief of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), will discuss Building Fire Safety and other Fire Code Provisions.

Frumencio Tan, safety consultant of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, will talk about electrical causes of fire and debunk the “faulty electrical wirings” reasoning.

Safety and disaster risk reduction advocate Martin Aguda will discuss home fire safety and explain the merits of installing smoke detectors in homes.

Ariel Miranda, chief of the Fire Safety Enforcement Division of the BFP, Supt. Reynaldo Lorenzo, BFP Assistant Regional Director for Administration, and Jay Palomo, President & Managing Director of United Fire Volunteers will also join the discussion.
