#ReliefPH: Help people affected by flash floods in Negros Occidental

Several parts of Negros Occidental were again flooded due to heavy rain from the tail-end of a frontal system on Saturday, January 9.

Affected areas include the cities of Talisay, Silay, Victorias, and Bacolod, as well as the municipalities of EB Magalona and Manapla.

Just a week ago, over 4,000 families were affected by massive flooding in Negros Occidental.

Dealing with yet another disaster, residents have been appealing for rescue and relief.

Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute Inc

Youth group Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute Inc is raising funds to bring basic relief goods and child sexual abuse prevention materials to at least 2,000 affected families in Victorias, Silay, and Talisay cities.

To achieve this, the group hopes to pool P650,000 for their donation drive dubbed Tatap Negrosanon. Aside from providing basic relief items, the youth group hopes to set up a child-friendly space and do a small debriefing session for children affected by the recent flooding.

Colonia Divina Integrated School Supreme Student Government

The student government of Colonia Divina Integrated School (CDIS) is calling for monetary and in-kind donations.

  • Canned goods, noodles, rice

All donated goods and cash will be turned over to the Division of Sagay City for distribution to the affected areas.

College Red Cross Youth UNO-R Council

The College Red Cross Youth University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) is accepting in-kind donations, in partnership with the Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute, UNO-R Criminal Justice Education Council, Association of Civil Engineering Students, and UNO-R Supreme Student Government.
