At around 2:30 am, a Mitsubishi truck driven by Alexander Yubal and with plate number LFG-797, lost control after its brakes supposedly malfunctioned.

The truck then hit a coconut tree, throwing some of its passengers off the vehicle. Three passengers, including one identified as Elenita Perez, died on the spot.
