2 drug suspects killed, city police chief hurt in Pampanga
Two suspected drug suspects are killed while the police chief of the City of San Fernando is injured when police tried to implement a search warrant in Calulut village

PAMPANGA, Philippines – A suspected drug dealer and an associate were killed while the police chief of the City of San Fernando was injured when policemen tried to implement a search warrant in the city’s Calulut village on Monday, July 4.

The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) on Tuesday afternoon, July 5, said in a statement that the fatalities were Jaime “Bob” Untad and one Mulong Biliwang, both of legal age.

The incident occured when police officers led by Supt. Jean Fajardo, San Fernando chief of police, were serving a search warrant issued by Judge Divina Luz Aquino of the city’s Regional Trial Court Branch 41 for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act against Untad in his residence located at Northville 14 Resettlement Center on Monday afternoon.

Police said Untad grabbed Fajardo’s service firearm. The two allegedly grappled for control of the gun when the firearm went off with a bullet striking Fajardo’s right arm. The other policemen then drew their firearms and shot the suspected drug pusher.

“The other suspect identified as Mulong Biliwang, who was arrested during the implementation of the warrant, was likewise killed during the crossfire,” a press release of the Camp Olivas-based PRO3 stated.

Fajardo was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Police said a .38 caliber revolver loaded with 3 live bullets, an MK2 hand grenade, 5 pieces of transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and other assorted drug paraphernalia were confiscated from Untad’s residence. – Rappler.com
