LOOK: Duterte meets with Steven Seagal in Malacañang
MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte met with actor Steven Seagal in Malacañang on Thursday, October 12.
Photos released by Malacañang on Thursday evening show Duterte chatting and laughing with Seagal, and even doing his signature pose with the actor.
Malacañang said that Seagal arrived in the Philippines to look for a location for his new movie "about illegal drugs and other crimes."
Former Ilocos Sur governor Luis "Chavit" Singson accompanied Seagal during his meeting with Duterte, the Office of the President added.
"Telling Seagal that movies are a reflection of life, President Duterte reiterated his strong stance against illegal drugs because it enslaves people to a form of synthetic chemical," Malacañang said.
"He also told the American actor that he used to have karate lessons," it added.
Their meeting took place after Duterte spoke at the relaunching of the Malacañang Press Briefing Room, where he threatened to expel European diplomats based on the wrong information. – Rappler.com
