MANILA, Philippines – A suspect in the killing of 19-year-old Los Baños student Ray Bernard Peñaranda turned himself in to a TV personality Thursday evening, March 8, TV5 reported.

The suspect, 18-year-old Tyrone Kennedy Terbio, surrendered to broadcaster Raffy Tulfo and denied his alleged involvement in Peñaranda’s killing Sunday. 

Laguna policemen headed to Manila to fetch the suspect, TV5 said.

In Los Baños, Peñaranda’s death has sparked moves to give students tighter security – his case being the 3rd student killing in a span of 5 months.

The Los Baños government, for instance, has bared a proposal to impose a midnight curfew on student dormers to prevent similar crimes for happening.
