BAGUIO, Philippines (UPDATED) – Six campaigners of a local political coalition were killed when the jeepney they were riding lost its brakes along Suello Village in Km 3, Asin Road, and hit a riprap wall Tuesday morning, April 23.

Onjon ti Baguio campaign manager Joseph Cabato identified the dead as Julia Labi, Elizabeth Panis, Rechilda Abaigar, Adelina Agsaoay, Josephine Ag-a, and John Rey Passi. Ag-a and Passi died Tuesday night at the Baguio General Hospital, Cabato said.

According to Cabato, 17 are still undergoing treatment at BGH. Onjon ti Baguio is taking care of all medical and burial bills as well, courtesy of Atty. Nic Aliping, who is running as congressman.
