Australian man nabbed over fatal gun attack in Olongapo
(UPDATED) No motive has been established yet for the gun attack

OLONGAPO CITY, Philippines (UPDATED) – The Australian suspect in the daytime killing of two persons here has been arrested 3 hours after the gun attack, police said.

Colonel Benjamin Sembrano, chief of the city police, said Michael McLaren has been positively identified as the alleged gunman through the closed-circuit television footage around the crime scene.

Sembrano said McLaren fatally shot the victims who were with him inside a maroon Mitsubishi Mirage at about 10:30 am Friday, October 18. No motive has been established yet.

Police earlier described the gunman, who emerged from the car and quickly left the crime scene, as “foreign-looking.”

Police identified the victims as Mila Bailey and another Australian national, Anthony George Wilson.

Bailey and Wilson owned a resort and bar in the city.

The gun attack also injured Bailey’s husband, Wayne, who was driving the car during the incident. Wayne, who sustained multiple shots in the body, managed to crawl towards a nearby hardware store and was taken to a hospital, witnesses said.

A 2-year-old girl, who is the daughter of the Baileys, was inside the car during the attack but was unhurt, police said. – Rappler.com
