Most Ombudsman cases filed vs LGUs, PNP

MANILA, Philippines – Which government agencies had the most number of complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman in 2012?

According to a report released by the Ombudsman’s Finance and Management Information Office on Wednesday, June 26, local government units (LGUs) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) continue to top the list of agencies with the most number of graft and corruption cases. 

A total of 2,669 cases were filed against local government officials in 2012. The number, however, dropped from 3,852 cases in 2011. 

Cases were also filed against other branches of the government. The Supreme Court had 27 cases, while the House of Representatives had 17. 

Below are the top 20 government agencies with the most number of cases filed against them in 2012:
