Thai deported over racial slur vs Filipinos
Social media user 'Koko Narak' has requested for voluntary deportation instead of undergoing a legal proceeding that could take 6 months to complete

MANILA, Philippines –  Thai national Prasertsri Kosin, who goes by the name “Koko Narak” on social media, was deported to his country on Friday, May 8.

His deportation stemmed from racially offensive remarks against Filipinos that he posted on Facebook, a charge he admitted to by requesting for voluntary deportation.

“Kosin was deported by virtue of a voluntary deportation order signed by the Board of Commissioners on its meeting last Thursday, May 7,” Bureau of Immigration (BI) Spokersperson Elaine Tan said on Monday, May 11.

Kosin’s request for voluntary deportation expedited what could have been a 2- to 6-months-long deportation proceeding.

He was detained in a BI facility in Taguig while the BI Board of Commissioners decided on his request for voluntary deportation.

“He was deported upon his presentation of an outbound ticket and upon verification that his name registered ‘no hit’ in the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) records,” Tan explained.

The deportation charge for undesirability against Kosin is based on his “contemptuous act and maligning remarks against Filipinos.”

Kosin had called Filipinos “slave,” “low class,” “Pignoy,” and “wriggling like cockroaches.”

“If I were Hitler, I would kill all Filipinos on this earth. Since it is a useless race on this world,” he posted.

“It is useless people on earth and waste the natural resources,” he added.

In the deportation charge sheet, the BI said such remarks “constitutes undesirability and his presence poses a risk to public interest.”

His former employer, Taguig-based business process outsourcing company Cognizant Philippines, already fired him over the slur.
