MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang on Tuesday, July 14, announced several special non-working days in Metro Manila and the whole country.

Malacañang issued Proclamation No. 1071 declaring February 25, 2016, as a special non-working holiday throughout the country.

President Benigno Aquino III made the holiday declaration upon the recommendation of the Edsa People Power Commission, as next year marks the 30th anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution.

“It is but fitting and proper that the entire Filipino nation be given the opportunity to observe this milestone in our country’s history,” Proclamation 1071 read.

Proclamation No. 1072 declared November 18, and 19, 2015, which fall on Wednesday and Thursday, as special non-working days in the National Capital Region.

Manila will host the 2015 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting on those dates. – Rappler.com
