PH COVID-19 cases reach over 469,000

The Philippines now has 469,005 confirmed COVID-19 cases after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,406 additional cases on Saturday, December 26.

The DOH reported 5 new deaths due to the coronavirus disease, bringing the death toll to 9,067, while recoveries are up by 266, raising total recoveries to 431,055.

Of the total cases, 28,883 are active.

PH posts 1,885 new COVID-19 cases on Christmas Day

The Philippines now has 467,601 confirmed COVID-19 cases after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,885 additional cases on Friday, December 25.

The DOH reported 7 new deaths due to the coronavirus disease, bringing the death toll to 9,062, while recoveries are up by 307, raising total recoveries to 430,791.

Of the total cases, 27,748 are active.

PH COVID-19 cases breach 465,000

The Philippines now has 465,724 confirmed COVID-19 cases after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,776 additional cases on Thursday, December 24.

The DOH reported 7 new deaths due to the coronavirus disease, bringing the death toll to 9,055, while recoveries are up by 533, raising total recoveries to 430,490.

Quezon City and Davao City registered the most new cases at 128 and 121, respectively. 

Of the total cases, 26,179 are active.

Cavite town releases quarantine guidelines for Christmas, New Year

The local government of Carmona in Cavite on Tuesday, December 22, updated its modified general community quarantine guidelines in time for the holiday season.

Curfew hours from 10 pm to 4 am will remain, while residents aged 18 to 65 are only allowed to leave the house on December 24 to 25, and December 30 to January 1, 2021.

Drinking in public places is prohibited. Meanwhile, a partial liquor ban will be in effect on December 24 to 25, and December 30 to January 1, 2021. On these days, establishments can only sell liquor or wine from 1 pm to 4 pm.

Use of karaoke machines within the confines of residences is only allowed from 6 pm to 10 pm. House-to-house caroling, solicitation, and visitation are also prohibited.

Buying, using, distributing, manufacturing, and selling firecracker and fireworks are strictly prohibited. Use of open pipe muffler on motorcycles is also strictly prohibited.

As of Tuesday, Carmona has a total of 739 coronavirus cases, with 18 active cases and 697 recoveries.

PH COVID-19 cases near 463,000

The Philippines now has 462,815 confirmed COVID-19 cases after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,314 additional cases on Tuesday, December 22.

The DOH reported 66 new deaths due to the coronavirus disease, bringing the death toll to 9,021, while recoveries are up by 247, raising total recoveries to 429,419.

Of the total cases, 24,375 are active.

Government denies rumors of individual vaccine reservations for $22 each

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr denied rumors that individuals can reserve COVID-19 vaccines if they paid a $22 fee by 9 am on Monday, December 21.

“We would like to remind the public that only the Philippine government is duly authorized to procure COVID-19 vaccines and administer them,” Galvez said in a statement.

“Any other offers of guaranteed access to any of the vaccines is not only illegal, but also life-threatening,” he added.

PH COVID-19 cases breach 460,000

The Philippines now has 461,505 confirmed COVID-19 cases after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,721 additional cases on Monday, December 21.

The DOH reported 10 new deaths due to the coronavirus disease, bringing the death toll to 8,957, while recoveries are up by 82, raising total recoveries to 429,207.

Davao City reported the most new cases at 151, followed by Quezon City at 142.

Of the total cases, 23,341 are active.
