MANILA, Philippines – Election officials and stakeholders face lawmakers on Thursday, September 13, for a hearing on the automated election system, as the Philippines prepares for the 2019 national and local polls.
The Joint Congressional Oversight Committee on the Automated Election System is set to hold this hearing at 10 am on Thursday.
The JCOC is composed of lawmakers from both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Expected panelists include officials of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and election watchdogs.
The hearing tackles the recommendations of the Comelec Advisory Council for the 2019 elections, enhancements of the automated election system, and problems encountered in the 2016 polls.
