Rappler Talk: Stopping crimes against nature with Billie Dumaliang
Rappler speaks with Masungi Georeserve managing trustee Billie Dumaliang on stopping enviromental crime. Watch the interview live on Rappler.

At midnight on Sunday, July 25, the Masungi Georeserve posted alarming photos on its Facebook page. Two of its rangers were shot in the head and neck in their preservation area, and had been rushed to the hospital.

For the management of Masungi Georeserve, the threat to nature extends to the people who protect it. The group has seen threats against the conservation area for years.

Trees have been felled, and patches of the sanctuary have been burned down. These are all illegal as the land has been declared a conservation area.

How can these be stopped?

Rappler multimedia reporter Rambo Talabong speaks with Masungi managing director Billie Dumaliang in this episode of Rappler Talk.

Tune in to the interview live at 1 pm on Wednesday, July 28. – Rappler.com
