MMDA chair Danny Lim tests positive for COVID-19

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Danny Lim announced on Tuesday, December 29, that he tested positive for COVID-19.

“Kagabi, matapos kong sumailalim sa routine swab test, nakuha ko na ang results at lumabas na positive ako sa COVID-19 sa kabila ng palaging pag-iingat at pagsunod nang maigi sa mga health protocols sa lahat ng pagkakataon,” Lim said in a Facebook post.

(Last night, after I undergone a swab test, I got my results and it came out positive despite following health protocols every time.)

Lim said that he had a mild case of the disease and he would continue to self isolate. He added that he has informed his direct contacts for the last week to do monitor for symptoms and self-isolate for 14 days.

In March, MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia contracted COVID-19 and has since recovered.

As of Tuesday, the Philippines has 471,526 cases of COVID-19, with 9,162 deaths and 439,016 recoveries. Of the total, 23,348 are active cases. – Bonz Magsambol/Rappler.com
