MANILA, Philippines - "She is a big plus, especially the farther you go from Metro Manila."
Team PNoy senatorial candidate Sonny Angara said this about the President's celebrity sister Kris Aquino, who is set to join the final stretch of the administration coalition's campaign.
On Thursday and Friday, Kris will be campaigning for senatorial bets Chiz Escudero and Grace Poe in General Santos City, Davao City, Cebu City and Tacloban City.
Next week, the final week of the campaign before the May 13 polls, the President's sister will be joining a series of "Rock the Vote" concerts to endorse her cousin Bam Aquino and Risa Hontiveros. Sharon Cuneta and Dingdong Dantes will be part of the "Rock the Vote" tour as well. Cuneta's husband, Sen Francis Pangilinan, is a stalwart of the ruling Liberal Party.
Kris is also endorsing Koko Pimentel, though they have yet to schedule a joint event. Pimentel suffered a huge drop in the most recent Pulse Asia survey.
But other bets are expected to bring out their aces as well. Matinee idol Coco Martin will be campaigning for Angara in Cebu on May 4, while former senator Jun Magsaysay will campaign with actor Richard Yap or 'Ser Chief' the same day.
Team PNoy is pulling all the stops to ensure a 12-0 victory in May, something the opposition United Nationalist Alliance says is wishful thinking.
According to recent surveys, voters will vote for 9 Team PNoy candidates and 3 UNA bets. - with reports from Natashya Gutierrez/Rappler.com
