A newly created province, Dinagat Islands has over 70,000 voters.

For the first time in 4 decades, the ruling Ecleos’ grip on power was challenged by one of their own. Jade is running against her mother on a platform of hope and reform.

Jade is backed by the Liberal Party and a line-up that includes activist congresswoman Kaka Bag-ao.

Early results show Bag-ao is leading the congressional race against Gwendolyn Ecleo, daughter of Glenda and the incumbent Dinagat town mayor.
