MANILA, Philippines – Reelectionist Senator Grace Poe, the daughter of famous actors Susan Roces and Fernando Poe Jr, took artists and performers to Tondo for her miting de avance on Friday, May 10.

Poe said bringing celebrities was her way of thanking her supporters for not leaving her. (READ: Poe ends campaign solo in Tondo miting de avance)

The 4-member Itchyworms sang their hits at the miting de avance, with Poe even joining them at the stage for a song.

The band’s frontman Jugs Jugueta told the Tondo crowd that Poe’s favorite among their songs was “Beer.” Poe joined them for the song.

Of course, “Lola Flora” was there. In the hit ABS-CBN show FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Susan Roces is the grandmother of the protagonist Ricardo Dalisay, whose role is played by Coco Martin.

The rest of Poe’s family – her husband Neil Llamanzares, son Brian, and daughters Nikka and Hanna – came in full force as well.

Coco was joined by his fellow actors from Ang Probinsyano: Brian “Smugglaz” Lao and Lordivino “Bassilyo” Ignacio. They are all part of the “Pulang Araw” rebel group in the TV series. 

The Megastar Sharon Cuneta graced the miting de avance to publicly endorse Poe. She said she had always wanted to, but did not do so out of respect for her husband Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, who is the campaign manager of the Otso Diretso slate.  (READ: Sharon Cuneta endorses Poe’s Senate bid, thanks husband Kiko’s ‘respect’)

At the miting de avance, Sharon proudly showed the print on the back of her shirt – the movie poster of her film with FPJ, Minsan Kahit Konting Pagtingin.

Singer Imelda Papin also urged Poe to join her for a song. Together, they sang the chorus of Papin’s hit song, “Kung Liligaya Ka sa Piling ng Iba.”

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian attended the miting de avance. Just a day before, Gatchalian also accompanied Poe in her political rallies and motorcade in Bulacan.

In her speech, Poe thanked the Tondo crowd for their support and said that they have a special place in her heart because they are loved by his father FPJ.

“Ang Tondo talaga, na’ndito lahat. Kaya dito ang ating umpisa, dito na rin magtatapos ‘pagkat minahal ng tatay ko ang Tondo. Dahil lahat ng tagarito ay totoong tao. Kaya maraming-maraming salamat po sa inyo,” Poe told her supporters.
