MANILA, Philippines – Philippine weather service Pagasa said in its latest forecast on Saturday, September 16, that an intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is affecting southern Mindanao, bringing cloudy skies and scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms to the ARMM, North Cotabato, Bukidnon, and Davao del Sur.

Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms in Metro Manila and the rest of the country will bring clouds and isolated rainshowers during the evening.

Pagasa is also monitoring Typhoon Lannie (Talim), which is not directly affecting the country.

Its eye is some 1,140 kilometers north-northeast of Basco, Batanes, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. The current maximum winds of the typhoon is around 130 kilometers per hour. It is forecast as moving slowly northeast. – Rappler.com
