New LPA forms east of Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines - Another low pressure area has been spotted east of Mindanao Thursday, January 10, as the current LPA lingers south of the island, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
The new LPA was spotted 1,090 km east of Mindanao, or just outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, while the current LPA was last spotted 490 km southeast of General Santos City.
Mindanao, Leyte, and Bohol will have cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, possibly causing landslides and flashfloods.
The rest of the Visayas, meanwhile, will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain or thunderstorms.
With the tail-end of a cold front affecting northern Luzon, Ilocos Norte and the Cagayan Valley region will have cloudy skies with light rain, the bureau said.
The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will have partly cloudy skies with brief rain, the bureau added.
