MANILA, Philippines – Parts of central Philippines will be cloudy Tuesday, October 1, as tropical depression Quedan will continue to hover from a distance to the east of the archipelago.

As of 4 pm Monday, September 30, Quedan’s center was located 790 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, carrying maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center.

PAGASA forecasts Quedan to move north at a speed of 7 km/h, and will take a path that will curve slowly to the northeast, according to the bureau’s estimated track.

Moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall is estimated with the system’s 300 km diameter.

The tropical depression is still far to affect any part of the country, the bureau said. No public storm warning signals have been raised in any part of the country.

As Quedan hovers in the east, Palawan, Bicol, the Visayas, Caraga and Northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies accompanied by light to moderate rain, the bureau said in its 24-hour forecast.

The rest of the archipelago will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain, the bureau said.
