Rainshowers, thunderstorms in Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines – Light to moderate to occasionally heavy rains affected on Sunday morning, September 28, areas in southern Mindanao localities Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga Del Sur, Davao City, Davao Del Sur, Davao Oriental, Surigao Del Norte, Basilan, and Lanao Del Sur, according to the state weather bureau Pagasa in a 7am rainfall advisory. 

The same weather condition is expected to affect other provinces of Mindanao the rest of the day because of the Southwest monsoon or Habagat. The 5am bulletin of state weather bureau Pagasa forecasted cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms for Mindanao.

The country capital, Metro Manila, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Pagasa also forecasted light to moderate winds blowing from the Northeast to Northwest over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the Southwest to West over Mindanao, according to the 5am bulletion.

Some areas in the Visayas like the Negros Island and Siquijor reported light to moderate rains early morning Sunday.

The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. – Rappler.com
