Isolated rains for PH on Tuesday

MANILA, Philippines – The entire country can expect only isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms on Tuesday, May 5, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

That day, skies over the archipelago are likely to be partly cloudy to cloudy, the agency said in its Monday evening bulletin.

Winds will be light to moderate all over the country resulting in slight to moderate seas.

Meanwhile, the tropical depression spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has developed into a tropical storm with international name “Noul.”

It was spotted at 4 pm by PAGASA 1,570 kilometers east of Mindanao. This is slightly farther than its position at 10 am – 1,520 kilometers east of Mindanao.

Tropical Storm Noul is packing winds of 75 to 90 kilometers per hour (km/h), said PAGASA. It is expected to move northwest at a speed of 9 km/h.

Noul is still too far from the Philippine landmass for its effects to be felt.
