Monsoon rains in parts of Luzon on Sunday

MANILA, Philippines – More areas in Luzon will experience monsoon rains on Sunday, July 19, the state weather bureau said.

In its 5 pm bulletin Saturday, July 18, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said monsoon rains may trigger flash floods and landslides in the regions of Ilocos and Cordillera, Zambales, Bataan, and the islands of Batanes, Calayan, and Babuyan.

The southwest monsoon is still affecting Luzon. 

The rest of Central Luzon, Cagayan Valley, and Mindoro will have occasional rains, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds from the southwest will prevail over Luzon and the Visayas, causing moderate to rough waters. Elsewhere, coastal waters will be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds blow also from the southwest.
