Though election aspirants already filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs), the list of candidates for the 2022 national elections isn’t final yet.
All eyes are on the Commission on Elections (Comelec) offices to see which candidates are withdrawing their bids and who are substituting for them.
The Comelec is accepting withdrawals and substitutions of candidacies for national positions until Monday, November 15, including Saturday, November 13, at the Palacio del Gobernador in Intramuros, Manila. In local Comelec offices, withdrawals and substitutions for local posts are also being accepted.

As admin allies scramble over substitutions, Leni-Kiko tandem remains intact
It’s status quo for the 2022 tandem Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan. Pangilinan gave this assurance on Saturday, November 13, as administration allies scramble over last-minute substitutions two days before the deadline.
“Inaasahan na po namin ang mga rigodon de tsubibo na ganyan. Sumama po kami ni VP Leni sa halalang ito, dala ang matibay na paniwalang tanging si VP Leni ang pinaka nararapat sa pagkapangulo, lalo na’t tayo’y nasa gitna ng giyera laban sa sakit, gutom, at kawalang-trabaho,” said Pangilinan.
