MANILA, Philippines – It seems that the Lakers are serious about another championship.

Sports network ESPN reports multiple sources confirm that a four-team deal sending 26-year-old All-Star center Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers has been finalized.

As expected, Lakers included the 7-foot Andrew Bynum in the deal.

Bynum, who made his first All-Star team last season, was sent to the Philadelphia 76ers along with guard Jason Richardson from the Orlando Magic.

The Denver Nuggets will acquire forward Andre Iguodala while the Orlando Magic, will receive Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic and one protected future first round pick form each of the other 3 teams. The Magic will also get 76ers pick Moe Harkless.

Howard averaged 20.6 points, 14.5 rebounds, 2.2 blocks 1.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in the 2011-2012 NBA Season.

The three-time defensive player of the year remains adamant about not signing any contract extension this season which means ‘Superman’ will be a much sought after free agent in the 2013 offseason.

The other All-Star center involved in the deal, Andrew Bynum, also has the option to wait until the end of the 2012-2013 season to become a free agent and sign a five year deal. His stance all summer long is that he will only sign an extension with the Lakers. – Rappler.com
