MANILA, Philippines – The Golden State Warriors may have taken a 1-0 lead in the NBA Western Conference finals, but the Portland Trail Blazers still look very much like a dangerous team.
The Blazers have shown enough poise to get out of sticky situations, as evidenced by their 17-point comeback in Game 7 on the road against the Denver Nuggets in the conference semifinals.
So expect Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum again to lead the charge as the Blazers look to avoid falling into a 0-2 hole. (GAME SCHEDULE: NBA Western and Eastern Conference finals 2019)
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, though, hopes to get more of the same from his crew after steady stalwarts Steph Curry and Klay Thompson came through for the two-time defending champions in Game 1 along with Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala.
Already playing without star center DeMarcus Cousins, the three-peat hunting Warriors head to Game 2 still without the services of two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant, who is nursing a right calf strain.
