MACAU – Several celebrities visited Manny Pacquiao at his Cotai Arena locker room here.

Most notable is David Beckham who dropped by the dug out to wish his favorite boxer luck before the fight.  

After Pacquiao’s victory against Mexican-American Brandon Rios, singer Jessica Sanchez and actor Stephen Baldwin also dropped by to congratulate the Filipino boxing champ.

Rappler spoke to both Baldwin and Sanchez. 

Sanchez talked about the importance of Pacquiao’s win and said there was no doubt in her mind that Manny would win the fight. She also spoke about her rendition of the Philippine National Anthem. She tells Rappler it was the first time she has ever performed Lupang Hinirang, “It was exciting. That was a lot of work but it was fun.”


Baldwin, who is a frequent post-fight dugout visitor and a long time Pacquao fan, talked about Manny’s renewed faith and addressed critics’ remarks about Pacquiao not being as great as he used to be. “Greatness isn’t just about your performance in the ring. It is something that for somebody like Manny still time will tell and history will tell,” Baldwin told Rappler. 

He added, “The story is not over. Manny Pacquiao’s success and legendary status, those books are continuing to be written.”
