Abueva earns ire of Isaiah Thomas after clotheslining Jones
MANILA, Philippines – NBA player Isaiah Thomas chimed in on the PBA incident that had Calvin Abueva clotheslining Terrence Jones, and he did not like it one bit.
Retweeting a video of the scuffle, the Denver Nuggets guard said he would have beat the Phoenix forward's ass following his cheap shot on the TNT import and former NBA veteran.
Abueva then stood at the officials' table and broke into a dance. (READ: After Abueva ban, Phoenix hopes same PBA ruling in future cases)
The clothesline may have stemmed, though, from an earlier play when Jones punched Abueva in the groin area and danced after it.
"I woulda beat his ass!!!" Thomas wrote on Twitter.
Further asked who he was talking about, Thomas clarified it was Abueva whom he was referring to and said he and Jones are friends.
"T Jones my dude. I'm talking the other dude."
Thomas and Jones almost played together for the University of Washington in the US NCAA Division, but the latter chose to commit to the University of Kentucky.
Jones, likewise, has been fined a total of P70,000 – P50,000 for the groin hit and P20,000 for physically contacting an official.
Andrew Bogut of the Golden State Warriors also aired his sentiments on the hullabaloo.

It can be remembered that the Aussie Bogut blasted Gilas Pilipinas for posing for a selfie after figuring in a bench-clearing brawl with Australia during a FIBA World Cup qualifying game where Abueva also saw action. – Rappler.com
