Dana White denies Conor McGregor’s reinstatement on UFC 200 card
'It's not true. We haven't talked to Conor or his manager since the press conference. I don't know why he would tweet that.'

MANILA, Philippines – UFC president Dana White denied Conor McGregor’s claim that he has been reinstated on the UFC 200 pay-per-view card for July 9.

The 27-year-old Irishman announced on Monday, April 25 via Twitter that he was added back to the UFC 200 event to face Nate Diaz in a welterweight rematch, but White was quick to shoot down McGregor’s declaration.

“It’s not true. We haven’t talked to Conor or his manager since the press conference. I don’t know why he would tweet that,” White said in an interview with TMZ.

The 46-year-old promoter reiterated that the second encounter between McGregor and Diaz is definitely off the UFC 200 card.

“All the media keeps asking me that. I feel like the scene in ‘Step Brothers’ when they ask if they can build the bunk beds. I don’t know how many more times I can say the fight is off or how many more press conferences I can have saying the fight is off for people to believe it’s off,” said White.

McGregor was pulled from the UFC 200 headlining bout against Diaz after he shockingly announced on social media that he planned to retire. He later clarified, however, that he wanted to pursue the highly-anticipated rematch and requested for a lighter publicity and promotional schedule.

But White still removed McGregor from UFC 200 for missing recent media obligations in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In a separate interview with the same showbiz news outlet, White left the possibility of McGregor being booked for UFC 201 in August.

“We just had a whole press conference about this, I don’t know how much clearer I can make it. He’ll fight on [UFC] 201, 202, 203, whatever. I don’t know when, but we’ll get it figured out,” he said. – Rappler.com
