Osenio, Tan slated for ONE FC’s Malaysia card in September

MANILA, Philippines – Two homegrown talents from the Philippines will represent the country on the undercard of ONE Championship’s “Unbreakable Warriors” event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on September 2.

Team Lakay’s April Osenio squares off with Malaysian sensation Ann Osman, while Trestle Tan faces Malaysia’s middleweight prospect Agilan Thani.

Osenio (1-1) is fresh from her first-round submission victory over Natalie Gonzales Hills last April, picking up his first win in his prizefighting career.

The 22-year-old made her ONE Championship debut in March 2015, yielding to Kirstie Gannaway via second-round submission.

Osenio redeemed herself by effortlessly thumping Hills at a jam-packed SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City 4 months ago.

A tough test awaits Osenio as she dances with an experienced foe like Osman, who has 6 professional bouts under her own belt.

Osman (4-2) made a name for herself in ONE Championship, owning a razor-thin decision triumph over Filipina boxing world champion Ana Julaton only in her second outing as a prizefighter before effortlessly thwarting Aya Saber and Walaa Abbas.

Hailing from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Osman recently made a quick work of Haiat Farag Youssef, compelling her Egyptian opponent to wave the white flag with a first-round rear-naked choke this past July.

In the other match-up, Tan (4-5, 1 NC) aims to make it two in a row after submitting Mexico’s Djatmiko Waluyo with a first-round rear-naked choke in February.

However, it is expected that Tan will have his hands full against Thani, who is undefeated in 5 prizefighting matches.

Thani has yet to go the distance in his promising mixed martial arts run, owning 3 knockout victories and two submission wins.
