WATCH: Aoki’s media workout for title defense vs Folayang

SINGAPORE – Japanese combatant Shinya Aoki wrapped up the final leg of his training camp for his ONE Championship lightweight title defense against renowned Filipino fighter Eduard Folayang with a media workout on Tuesday, November 8, at Evolve MMA in Singapore. 

Aoki is set to lock horns with Folayang in the main event of ONE Championship’s “Defending Honor” card, which takes place at the 12,000-seater Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore on Friday, November 11.

Aoki, a 33-year-old Japanese submission prodigy, worked on the punch mitts with his striking coach before he spent time on the mat by rolling with teammate and Singaporean standout Christian Lee.

Also in attendance for the open training session was Singaporean stalwart Amir Khan, who squares off with Filipino journeyman Vaughn Donayre on the same fight card.

Khan had a series of scrimmages with fellow Singaporean Benedict Ang, who is slated to take on Pakistan’s Ahmed Mujtaba.

Meanwhile, Folayang arrived in Singapore on Tuesday afternoon, along with Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao and ex-ONE Championship bantamweight title contender Kevin Belingon. (READ: Folayang out to silence doubters in world title fight against Aoki)

ONE Championship will hold a press conference on Wednesday, November 9, in Clarke Quay as Folayang and Aoki will see eye-to-eye for the last time before their 5-round championship clash. – Rappler.com
