The Cargo Movers spoil the Foton debut of former Ateneo volleyball standout Bea de Leon

MANILA, Philippines – F2 Logistics’ experience came in full show as the Cargo Movers spoiled the debut of Foton’s prized recruit Bea de Leon in the 2018 Philippine Superliga (PSL) Invitational Conference.

The Cargo Movers downed the Tornadoes in straight sets, 25-21, 25-21, 25-14, in the conference opener on Saturday, June 23 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Kim Dy led the Cargo Movers with 10 points, including 3 blocks as Ara Galang also fired 7 of her 9 points off attacks.

Team captain Cha Cruz-Behag pumped in 8 points and Mary Joy Baron had the same output, the last on a kill that put the Cargo Movers at match point before Kim Fajardo wrapped it up.

De Leon, the former Ateneo standout who debuted with 7 points, beefed up the Tornadoes’ towering lineup that includes sisters Dindin and Jaja Santiago.

But the Cargo Movers, who finished second to champion Petron last conference, flashed their experience all game with Dawn Macandili also taking care of the floor defense.

Jaja Santiago led the Tornadoes with 12 points and Jennylyn Reyes also poured in 8 points. – Carla Molina/Rappler.com
