Elaine Lim Yee Yan canned back-to-back triples to kick start Malaysia’s offense, 6-0.

Quian wrapped up the first quarter with a long two but it wasn’t enough to put them ahead, 10-11.

The Lady Tigers  took the lead at the start of the second period with an early basket from Hien Ky Lie.

Lioness Charmaine Koh answered with a shot of her own but her efforts were in vain as Lie and fellow Tigress Ammie Chin posted a 5-0 counter. 

Their momentum was cut short by a solid block from Singapore’s “Tower of Power” that garnered the loudest cheers from the crowd. The turnover resulted in a 3-point play completed by Au Ziyu.

The crowd’s loud cheering did not unnerve the Tigresses as they managed to put up back-to-back baskets courtesy of Lie and Chin.

Malaysia ended the first half on top, 22-18.

Singapore’s Ziyu’s hot the bottom of the net with rainbow shot and completed a 3-point play but Malaysia quickly countered with Quian’s free throws and her own basket from beyond the arc.

The Tigresses held on to the lead as Lie and Khoo Kar Syuen put up a dominating 8-1 run, sealing the third quarter at 38-29.

Malaysia extended their lead in the final period with an 11-5 run.

Quian, showing no signs fatigue, continued her phenomenal game as she scored consecutive baskets and provided exceptional defense.

Singapore looking to bounce back, picked up momentum as they managed to start making baskets but Malaysia doused any flicker of hope they had. 

Chin ended the game with a buzzer beating triple.
