UAAP postpones games due to Typhoon Karen
MANILA, Philippines – The UAAP has postponed all games for Sunday, October 16 due to Typhoon Karen (Sarika), the league announced Saturday, October 15.
"All UAAP games tomorrow, October 16 will be re-scheduled on the later date due to typhoon 'Karen'. We will notify you of the rescheduling of the said games," the UAAP Board said in a statement.
Games scheduled for Sunday include the UE Red Warriors versus the FEU Tamaraws as well as the Adamson Soaring Falcons against the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the men's basketball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Other UAAP games postponed include all table tennis matches at the Blue Eagle Gym as well as girls and boys volleyball at the Adamson University Gym.
Metro Manila, which has been placed under signal number 2, will begin feeling the effects of the typhoon on Saturday night, according to the latest bulletin from state weather bureau PAGASA.
The typhoon is expected to make landfall on Sunday and poses "serious threat" to Aurora province. – Rappler.com
