Businesses can enlist in the Dingdong online marketplace, and sign up for e-commerce management and delivery services

Actor and Doorbell Technologies CEO Dingdong Dantes on Monday, April 19, announced the launch of Dingdong, a startup offering a suite of e-commerce solutions for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Dingdong, the startup, will offer two main services: Dingdong Delivery and Dingdong E-Commerce.

Dingdong E-Commerce offers solutions spanning payments, order management systems, and custom online marketplaces for businesses looking to take their shop online.

As opposed to the consumer-oriented delivery services provided by players such as Grab and FoodPanda, Dingdong Delivery meanwhile offers the integration of the company’s rider fleet and the Dingdong Delivery interface into a business’ online shop or website. This allows a business to offer delivery services through the Dingdong rider fleet.

For companies looking to use their in-house delivery fleet, Dingdong Delivery offers tools for real-time management of riders with tracking data, estimated delivery times, traffic, and rider location.

A consumer-facing Dingdong Delivery app is also expected to come out within the month. The app was first announced in June 2020.

Dingdong E-Commerce, on the other hand, allows businesses to sign up in the Dingdong online marketplace, which the company says will have “user- friendly tools that automate the management of products, inventory, and orders.”

The company will also be providing “auxiliary training in general business topics like branding, accounting, taxes, and product-specific topics.”

The Dingdong E-Commerce API that can be integrated into businesses’ websites is in development.

Dantes admitted that the delivery space is a tough one but says the company and its services set themselves apart with “professional malasakit” (concern) for all stakeholders, and intensive training for their riders. – Rappler.com
