Feature comparison: iPhone X vs 8 vs 8 Plus
Check out these new phones' spec sheets here and see which one you like the most

MANILA, Philippines – With Apple launching 3 new iPhones, some consumers must be thinking: “Which iPhone is the one for me?”

That may be true for those who can spare the extra cash to get this year’s Apple phones. The iPhone X for instance pushes iPhone prices to record-highs at $1,000. What do you get at that price?

The iPhone X is unique in terms of its looks. It has an edge-to-edge display, has no home button, has the TrueDepth front camera, and both its rear cameras are stabilized. In the iPhone 8 Plus, only one rear camera is stabilized. The iPhone 8 has a stabilized camera as well.

The 8 Plus and the 8 stick to the standard FaceTime front camera while the X has the TrueDepth shooter, which allows it to recognize faces for security or for fun with animated emojis or “animojis”.

The home button remains in the iPhone 8 models. But between the two of them, only the 8 Plus has a dual camera setup.

The X has an amazing advantage in terms of contrast ratio at 1,000,000:1 while the 8 has a 1,400:1 ratio and the 8 Plus is at 1,300:1.

Fortunately, all come with the new, powerful A11 Bionic chip and iOS 11. It’s the X, however that is able to take advantage the most of the chip with its beautiful screen and face recognition features.

Across the board, the phones have similar video recording capabilities. However, the standard 8 is missing the “Portrait Lighting” feature that’s included in the 8 Plus and the X.

The X is also the best in battery life among the three with a battery life that supposedly lasts 2 hours longer than the iPhone 7.

One area where the iPhone 8s are better? Color choices. The X only comes in two colors (space gray and silver) while the 8 has three (gold, silver, and space gray).

For a newer iPhone experience, the X is definitely the choice here although that $1,000 price tag is generally being regarded online as an obscene price to pay for a phone. It’s cool-looking and has some exciting features but in general, it can’t shake off the feeling that its features have been seen elsewhere first.

The 8 and the 8 Plus’ most exciting feature is the inclusion of the A11 Bionic chip. Other than that, there was little that really blew people’s minds about the 8. The iPhone 7 phones – which are still more-than-reliable performers – feel like a wiser choice at the moment, as their prices have been cut by $100 after the 8 was introduced. Check out the spec sheets below.
